As ISYS Search Softwares founder and managing director, Ian
Davies guides the companys overall direction and serves as its chief
technology expert. Widely regarded as a visionary and tireless business
leader among Sydney, Australias substantial technology population,
he has been the lynchpin to the companys success since its inception
14 years ago.
Ian designed the original ISYS text retrieval system in 1988 after recognizing
a market opportunity for search engine technology. In 1993, he was elected
a Computerworld Fellow in recognition of his achievements in software.
The technology, now in its sixth generation, has won numerous awards and
has been deployed by a blue chip list of clients that includes high-profile
businesses and organizations in government, legal, law enforcement, recruitment,
IT and more.
Prior to founding ISYS, Ian spent 10 years writing as a consulting technical
editor for one of Australias leading PC magazines. Additionally,
he spent four years with a prominent commercial software house in Australia
before becoming an independent consultant in IBM mainframe fourth-generation
Ian graduated from RMIT in 1981 with a degree in computer science with
distinction. He has lectured post-graduate students studying information
technology and has also consulted widely to Australian corporate and government
departments on technical issues.
Terry Clift brings more than 35 years of experience in the information
technology industry to his post as the president of North American operations
for ISYS Search Software Inc. With particular expertise in software
development, consulting, management, sales and marketing, he is a highly
respected global professional responsible for the companys U.S.
and UK offices, and its Australian sales team.
Prior to joining ISYS in 1994, Terry served in various management roles
for companies that include Cable & Wireless, Unisys, Rio Tinto and
NCR in locations such as the UK, the United States, Hong Kong and Australia.
Terrys experience with ISYS includes a steady progression of success.
In 2000, he led the companys sales in Australia, subsequently taking
on responsibility for global sales performance, which included management
of the companys offices in the USA and UK. In 1996, Terry commenced
marketing of the newly developed ISYS:web product in Australia. The subsequent
success of ISYS:web has resulted in it becoming one of the companys
best revenue earners.
During his time with the company, Terry has secured numerous major corporate
clients. He is a well-rounded speaker that has enlightened numerous audiences
over the course of his career and is available to present a variety of
topics related to knowledge management and information retrieval.
As vice president of ISYS Search Softwares North American business,
Michael Blaszak leads the companys U.S. sales efforts and manages
the day-to-day operations. He brings more than a decade of experience
in technology sales, with a significant understanding of new business
development and client relations.
Michael joined ISYS in September 1994 as business development manager
for the U.S. West Coast region, where he developed the territory into
a consistent revenue stream for the company. In 1996, he took on the East
Coast region, where he further increased revenues by developing such key
accounts as the U.S. Department of Justice and the United Nations.
Prior to joining ISYS, Michael worked for Sequent Computer Systems and
RW Incorporated, serving in various senior technology sales roles. His
leadership and contributions have been invaluable to the success of the
companys U.S. operations, which account for nearly two-thirds of
ISYS global revenues.
Nigel Wheeldon, ISYS Search Softwares manager for the UK and Europe,
brings more than 15 years of new business development and sales experience
and nearly a decade specializing in software. In this role, he manages
daily operations and leads new business development and sales efforts
for ISYS Search Softwares European territories.
Nigel has previously held a variety of senior sales positions with some
of the UKs more notable knowledge management and business intelligence
solutions providers, including SER Solutions and STS Systems. During his
time with these companies, he produced a steady stream of success by consistently
increasing company revenues year after year.
Having joined ISYS Search Software in September 2002, Nigel has already
made a significant impact on the companys global strategy by helping
launch and further develop sales channels in key verticals, including
recruitment and law enforcement.
Haidi Jenkin is responsible for worldwide marketing as well as operational
aspects in Australia and the UK. She has 10 years experience in both management
consulting and software systems integration, which she combines in her
current role to focus on strategic software marketing for ISYS.
A recent addition to the ISYS team, Haidi joined the company in April
2003. Prior to her role at ISYS, she worked for top-tier strategy consultant
Booz Allen Hamilton and as a freelance consultant for clients such as
Panasonic Australia and News Ltd. She also spent several years as a software
engineer and project manager for Citect Corporation, where she developed
automation systems for customers including Nestle and NEC.
